Originally from Belfast, but living in Fermanagh for 17 years, Elaine has been fundamental in the formation of Stroke Warriors.
Stephen's Story
Stephen has been the driving force for stroke survivors in Fermanagh to access support for their recovery.
Over a decade ago, and following his own stroke in November 2008, Stephen setup a support group in Enniskillen to help others rebuild their confidence and access vital services.
His aim has always been to provide a warm welcome and a friendly face and to give stroke survivors the opportunity to talk to someone who understands because they’ve been through it too. Stephen understands first-hand how hard it is after you leave hospital, particularly for younger people.
Since Stephen began working with the wider stroke survivor community, the support group has gone through some changes, before the 'Stroke Warriors' was established in 2024.
